Here are some of the most popular questions I get asked about hiring a magician but if you have any others then please feel free to email or give me a call.


Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

Yes. As a full member of Equity, I hold PLI up to the value of £10m. Certificates can be forwarded to your venue upon request.


How far in advance should we book?

I'm currently taking wedding bookings up to 2 years in advanced. As there is just me, I operate on a first come first serve basis. It's never too early to book.


Do we need to pay a booking deposit?

Yes. There is a booking fee due on receipt of contract. The remaining balance is due within 14 days of your event. With all bookings, I provide two written contracts, confirming all event details and costs. One for your records, and one for you to sign and send back. This is an important part of the booking, as it's your guarantee that I'll be there.


What is the best time to have a magician perform at our wedding?

This depends on your specific requirements, time of ceremony, etc. One of the most popular times to have the magician perform is after the wedding breakfast, up until the evening reception, as it is a great way to keep your guests entertained during the change over period. Another good time slot is during the evening reception as guests begin to arrive because it is a fantastic ice breaker and the magician can get everybody involved.


How much do you charge?

This is a very good question! However it does depend on your party venue's location, how many guests, and how long you would require me to perform for etc... Please feel free to email me with the full details of your event and I will get back to you with a quote.


Why should we hire you instead of another magician?

If you have already seen me perform you wouldn't be asking this question! If you would like to see me perform before you book me then keep checking my Facebook page for my latest performances at wedding shows and other public events. I also hold regular client meetings at The Derby Wedding Showroom. You are also welcome to request references from previous clients and companies I have worked for.


I've had a quote from another magician. Why are you more expensive?

Quite simply - you get what you pay for! What I offer is complete professionalism at all times and I always make every effort to make your unique event a complete success! Please also be aware that other entertainers may not hold full Public Liability Insurance, and may be refused entry into your venue.


What if you are ill and can't make our event?

As yet I have never missed a booking, but these things can happen so in the event I am unable to make it due to an emergency, I would ALWAYS ensure that a replacement, who will be of equal standard (or maybe even better!), will be available for the same agreed fee. A benefit of booking a supplier via The Wedding Professional's Network, is that if this does ever happen, there is always another trusted wedding supplier to fill in.


Can we meet with you?

What is a 'close-up' magician?

A close-up magician is a magician who performs the magic right in front of you, right under your nose, walking around amongst your guests. As opposed to stage or cabaret magic where you can only view the magic from afar. My way gives you and your guests the opportunity to become much more involved and have the magic happen in your own hands or with your own objects.


Do you perform at children's parties?
